Occupational Therapy collaborates with individuals of all ages, from children to adults providing functional assessment and intervention to enable individuals to improve or maintain their normal daily roles, independence, safety, and quality of life.
At Turoolba our occupational therapist provides assessment, education and intervention for children aged 1 -18 years, and their families and carers. With a focus on child development, motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills and regulation skills which may impact on the child’s involvement in activities at home and preschool/school.
Turoolba also offers occupational therapy functional capacity assessment, education and intervention for people aged over 18 years. With the aim of holistically considering and defining the comprehensive needs and goals of an individual, including the necessary supports to participate in daily living activities.
Turoolba provides individualised, culturally safe and trauma informed practice. We get to know the client to develop an understanding of their Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB). We collaborate with those who are important in a client’s life e.g. caregivers, educators, family and other services to ensure the client receives the best care possible.
